A SURVIVOR of a Highfields crash which killed three teenagers has fronted court on his second charge of assault occasioning bodily harm since the tragic incident.

Nicholas Peter Bergen, 21, pleaded guilty in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday to punching a man during a dispute early on the morning of February 14 this year.

Bergen sustained serious injuries in the 2009 crash which killed school mates William Hutchison, Hamish Stewart and Henry Keevers.

His 2010 court appearance for assault occasioning bodily harm was linked to the incident, with Bergen punching someone who taunted him about the crash.

Police prosecutor Constable Michael Orth said the most recent incident stemmed from a fight between Bergen and his girlfriend.

Const. Orth said Bergen went to the house of a Newtown man about 1.40am on Valentineas Day.

After arguing with his girlfriend, who was at the house, Bergen and the man became involved in an argument. …
