IPSWICH Force would have appreciated the muscle and might of Australian training squad recruit Emma Langford in yesterdayCOs clash at Booval.

Langford was unable to play against Gladstone after being called to Canberra to join the extended Opals squad.

However, Force coach Brad George said IpswichCOs 88-66 loss at home provided a blueprint for the work needed to match the Queensland Basketball LeagueCOs top sides this season.

GladstoneCOs national league scoring machine Jessica Bibby was unstoppable, scoring 44 points and nailing three-point shots like she had the ball on a string.

However, George saw the value in playing second-placed Gladstone so soon after the teamCOs other early loss to competition leaders Mackay.

C[pounds sterling]WeCOve got to learn from that.

C[pounds sterling]Basically as soon as we get under pressure, we make silly turnovers and they come down and hurt us.

C[pounds sterling]We canCOt afford to do that.C[yen]

George said ForceCOs plan was to keep the free-scoring, vocal Bibby as quiet as possible.

C[pounds sterling]She just played outstanding and we let her play,C[yen] he said.

C[pounds sterling]The game plan was there and we didnCOt execute defensively.C[yen]

GladstoneCOs physical nature was highlighted by Stacey Howard seemingly spending as much time on the floor as attempting to play.

George described her as the teamCOs battering ram.

Tenacious Force guard Courtney Taylor suffered a head injury late in the game. She was escorted off the court after her heavy knock.

Natasha Hasse also limped away after the clash. …
