MAX, the lovable lurcher with bandy legs, has found a new home.

The Gazette told how the five-month-old needed a loving new home after not having the best start in life.

Vets believe Max was left cooped up inside a shed, depriving him of sunlight and making him prone to rickets - hence his bendy legs.

He came into the care of dog rescue group Dogs in Distress after he was dumped over a member's garden wall at Newby, near Stokesley.

And now, thanks to a Gazette appeal, he's found a new place to call home.

When Redcar couple Alan and Pam Brown saw Max's story on our website, their hearts melted.

Alan, a porter at East Cleveland Hospital in Brotton, said: "Pam saw Max on the Gazette website and fell in love with him, so we rang up and arranged to go and see him.

"As soon as we took one look at him, that was it - we knew we wanted him. …
