4 Honored for Business Leadership; Trio of Executives and a Professor from UNF Have Been Recognized

With each honoree extolling the value of community service, three Jacksonville business executives and a globe-trotting University of North Florida professor were honored as distinguished business leaders by the Coggin College of Business on Wednesday.

The Prime F. Osborn III award, in its 16th year, is designed to recognize the careers of local leaders. This year, it went to Gary Chartrand, Hugh Greene, Robert Frankel and Anna Lopez Brosche.

Frankel, chair of the department of marketing and logistics at the college, helped created the school's logistics IT lab and has been co-chair of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He's given guest lectures at schools around the world.

His work with the school, said fellow professor Jay Coleman, has made UNF's logistics program one of the best in the nation, with it having the most graduates automatically receiving the top credential in the field.

Chartrand, who is known for his focus on education issues, is executive chairman of Acosta Inc., an outsourced sales and marketing agency. During his time as chief executive officer there, Chartrand turned the Jacksonville-based company into a billion-dollar business. …
