RAFAEL Nadal and Novak Djokovic will meet in a much-anticipated French Open semi-final showdown after both won their quarter-finals in straight sets.

Seven-time champion Nadal saw off Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 6-1 on Court Philippe Chatrier, while world No 1 Djokovic beat Tommy Haas 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

The two tournament favourites - last year's finalists - will face each other tomorrow with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga playing David Ferrer in the other semi-final.

Djokovic and Nadal meet before the final because the clay court powerhouse Spaniard is only seeded third as he continues to make his way back from a seven-month break for a knee injury.

Nadal said: "I know that I will play against the best player of the world.

"I know that he''s having great results for along time.

"I'm just trying to play my way, trying to find my rhythm and trying to play my best match.

"That''s the only way to have a chance in the semi-final. …
