THE husband and wife team behind a tasty new Teesside business is hoping the venture will make them lots of bread - literally.

For Stockton's latest sandwich shop has set out to celebrate one of the North-east's best loved buns, the stottie.

The Stottie Company, on the town's Prince Regent Walk, opened recently with a focus on locally sourced produce.

Owners Sharon Olivero Chapman and husband Dave have packed the menu with a variety of stotties and fresh fillings made to order.

Sharon runs a catering company with coffee shop kiosks at business sites in Hartlepool and Sunderland.

Setting up the Stockton sandwich shop, she says, was the next step.

Originally from the South, the stottie was new to her when she moved to the North-east with Dave. She loved the idea of it being local and the idea for the shop started from there.

The couple live in Ingleby Barwick and have a two-year-old daughter.
