KIRK Anderson is proud to call himself a Cyrock lickerCO.

Although the mining geologist admits he C[pounds sterling]kind of fell into his careerC[yen], he said he had loved working in the industry over the past 12 years.

It takes a special kind of person to be a successful geologist, he said.

C[pounds sterling]There are two types of rock lickers, there are the kind who had a rock collection when they were a kid, and just love rocks,C[yen] he said.

C[pounds sterling]And then there are the kind who picked up a rock when they were a kid, had a look at it and then kicked it back into the bush.

C[pounds sterling]ICOm definitely the second kind.C[yen]

Mr Anderson worked outside of Moranbah for about seven years.

He will be one of the many geologists who will be in town next week for the annual Bowen Basin Geologists Group meeting at CQUniversity.

He grew up in central New South Wales and said one of the perks of the job was travel. …
