School 'Chaos' after Governors Step Down

A NORTHUMBERLAND school where the headteacher has been suspended for seven months has now been rocked by the departure of two governors.

Corbridge Church of England Aided First School headteacher Julie Logan has been absent since November.

Although the reasons for that have still not been disclosed, Mrs Logan says she has been suspended.

Now it has emerged that two governors, including the former chairman, are both to quit.

A parent at the school last night said the developments added to a perceived sense of "chaos" at the site.

A letter was sent to parents at the school - ranked outstanding by Ofsted in 2009 - by governors in December informing them Mrs Logan had left her post for the immediate future.

Now parents have received a further letter from present chairman of governors Katharine Abraham revealing her predecessor Ron Tipping and foundation governor Emma Gifford are both stepping down. …
