She Was My Baby, Says Mother of Girl, 15, Found Hanged at School

THE mother of a teenager who was found hanged in the lavatories of her school today expressed shock and disbelief at her death.
Malika Sawyer was discovered at the end of the school day at the Harris Academy Greenwich in Eltham.
The 15-year-old, who is believed to have taken her own life, was taken to Lewisham hospital on Tuesday evening but efforts to resuscitate her failed. She was pronounced dead two hours later.
Her grieving mother Colette said she was too distraught to speak, adding "nothing would bring my baby back". She was being comforted by the girl's grandmother Lisa and other relatives at the family home in Plumstead.
The 40-year-old said: "I am too upset to say anything more at the moment."
Friends of the talented singer-songwriter paid tribute to the "gifted" and "fun-loving" teenager.
Her best friend Destini Dolor wrote on Facebook: "Really don't understand how I can smile and laugh again". She added: "I never thought this would happen but today is the day I lost my best friend, a beautiful, talented and bright young girl..ill ALWAYS love you and every secret you told me is safe with me."
Another girl Alanna-May Kavanagh, wrote: "You would look at her and you would think to yourself that she enjoyed who she was. …
