HUMMINGBIRD (15) FORMER diving champ Jason Statham has been an action man in search of a threedimensional script for as long as he's been in the movies.

Now, at last, The Transporter star has found it - thanks to the directing debut of Oscarnominated scriptwriter Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things).

He delivers a violent but thought-provoking insight into religious affairs, poverty, abuse, human trafficking and the damaged mind of homeless ex-special forces marine Joey Jones (Statham) who you'll believe has really killed people.

As in the opening scene of Statham's earlier 2013 film Parker, we see the 45-year-old in an unfamiliar guise, sleeping rough on the rain-sodden London streets, before he quickly reverts to type.

He and his friend Isabel are attacked by two thugs and Joey escapes by tumbling through the skylight of a luxury apartment, which is thankfully vacant while the owner is away on business in New York. …
