THE 14th annual Pioneer Lakes Residential Community Pro Am will be staged at the Pioneer Valley Golf Club, Mirani, on Wednesday, July 10.

This event has become an integral segment of Queenslandas PGA Sunshine Circuit and it is certainly a premier event for the Pioneer Valley Golf Club.

For the seventh year in succession Pioneer Lakes Residential Community of Mirani has the naming rights of the event as the platinum and major sponsor for 2013.

Organisers are extremely appreciative of their ongoing support.

The $10,000 prize event has become a PGA favourite with many of the professional golfers returning year after year to revel in the perfect course conditions which local golfers know and enjoy on a regular basis.

Yet again this beautiful course is in perfect condition.

This is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of the small yet efficient greens staff and volunteers who work tirelessly, especially after each wet season, to return the course to perfect conditions.

Last yearas winner, Marcus Cain, said athe greens and course at Pioneer Valley are in excellent conditiona.

Each year the professional golfers heap praise upon this high quality, 6089m championship-length golf course with its challenging and well-designed layout and the smooth, true greens.

Golfers enjoy the friendly, informal and welcoming atmosphere and the hospitality they receive at the Pioneer Valley, with some of professionals being billeted by members and friends of the club.

Organisers are also very pleased to welcome two gold sponsors: Dixon Homes and Craig & Nice Dental, along with 15 silver sponsors and six bronzes sponsors, similar to last yearas support.

A pleasing field of 52 professional golfers has entered this yearas event, which is up from last yearas 44, with quality professional golfers from all over Australia and New Zealand lining up for the iconic Pioneer Lakes Platypus Pro Am.

Victorians David Bransdon, Peter Wilson and Scott Laycock will head the field, while locals Anthony Johnson and Wade Brunjes will certainly be worth watching. …
