CONSECUTIVE placings against quality opposition has Delago Bolt primed to finish the Brisbane Winter Carnival on a high note in tomorrowas Listed Ascot Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm.

The six-year-old resumed with a win over 1010m in restricted grade over 1010m at Doomben on April 27, before finishing second to Howmuchdoyouloveme in the Listed Lightning Handicap (1000m) at Eagle Farm on June 8, and third to the same horse in the Group 3 W.J. Healy Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 22.

Importantly, four of tomorrowas opponents a Liesele, Bennyas Buttons, Griffon, and Funtantes a all finished behind Delago Bolt on that occasion.

Betting agencies have found it impossible to split the top chances in the Ascot Handicap, with Tattsbet yesterday listing Listen Son, Delago Bolt, Griffon, Bennyas Buttons, Emotional Circus and Doubtfilly equal favourites at $7.
