WARM and wonderful winter weather made this yearCOs Mackay Cup a hot destination on Saturday.

Mackay Turf Club events manager Emily Dwyer said the Caneland Central Mackay Cup 2013 at Ooralea Racecourse had been a huge success.

This yearCOs event offered a more C[pounds sterling]relaxedC[yen] feel than in the past, Ms Dwyer said.

Caneland Central retail manager Keith Garrash agreed that the weather on Saturday had been perfect for winter racing.

C[pounds sterling]It seems a lot more relaxed and the warmth and sunshine has been great.C[yen]

Caneland Central Mackay Cup 2013 ambassador John Dwyer, who began his career on the Mackay track, said he was happy to be back for the big race day. …
