IF THE Clarence River Jockey Club bagged up all the horse poo produced in one week at the track and put it on the side of road for $2 a pop, well, it would rake in the big bucks.

Racecourse manager Drew Cookson said if the club did use the old style of getting rid of the extra excrement, a weekas worth awould fill a whole streeta.

aWe would produce, well we did close to 10 tonne in a week a thatas at the stables and includes the bedding, which is urine as well,a he said.

The amount of poo produced is equal to the weight of about 10 small cars.

Mr Cookson said there could be more than 150 horses in training at the racecourse at a time and that didnat count the extras guests coming in for the racing carnival, each spending a few hours at the track. …
