FRASER Coast MPs have announced they will not be chasing backpay, the same day the Newman Government revealed its plans to backflip on the controversial $57,000 a year wage increase for MPs.

Member for Hervey Bay Ted Sorenson has also expressed his wish to see the electorate entitlements a which were slashed by 50% by the State Government to accommodate the pay increase a restored, after he revealed about $23,000 of his office allowance had been cut.

The pay increase was announced last week after Crown Law deemed Anna Blighas 2009 pay freeze to be unlawful.

Mr Sorenson said he relied on his allowance for things such as hiring extra staff and sending out annual Christmas card calendars to his electorate.
