MATEJ Kus makes his return from injury tonight as high-flying Redcar Bears aim to put one foot in the Premier League KO Cup final.

The Ecco Finishing Bears haven't lost a match in this year's competition and aim to keep up their 100 per cent record when Rye House Rockets visit South Tees Motorsports Park this evening (7.30pm start).

They have already beaten tonight's vistors in the league this term and the Rockets are bottom of the table - in marked contrast to the Bears' lofty positrion of second.

Team manager Jitendra Duf-fill is naturally optimistic of another victory but won't be taking his opponents lightly.

"Some fans might expect a walkover because Rye House aren't doing especially well in the league," said Duffill.

"But I expect them to give us a tough challenge.

"They've booked Josh Grajczonek as a guest for the injured Olly Alllen and he's someone who has often gone well at our place.

"Jason Bunyan went very well here on his last visit and Tyson Nelson was brilliant - he's someone we will really have to watch. "When we raced them in the league the meeting was ended early because of the rain but Rye House had started to look lively and some of their riders wanted to carry on.

"But I'm still confident that we are the stronger team and that we can book our place in the final.

"Ulrich Ostergaard has been riding like a real No 1 and, apart from a blip the other week, his machinery has been doing the job too.

"And we've got plenty of support for him in the rest of the team too, so we can definitely do it."

Kus hasn't ridden a meeting since suffering a broken shoulder and leg injuries while riding in a Test match for the Czech Republic against Poland in Prague in mid-June.

He wasn't in especially good form before that but Duffill is hoping that Kus shows the sort of form he has produced in the past that made him a popular and spectacular rider to watch. …
