THE LITTLE Prince balloon hanging off the cot of newborn Morgan Bradley Thomas Dawes couldn't be more apt.

Gorgeous baby Morgan shares the same birthday as the royal baby boy after being born at 12.30am yesterday.

And proud first-time-mum Samie was excited her bundle of joy shared the special day with the third-in-line to the throne.

The 24-year-old of Redcar, who delivered 7lb 12oz Morgan three-and-a-half-weeks premature, said: "It will be something we can remember and have forever.

"I thought she was due on about July 11 so it never crossed my mind that we would give birth on the same day. When I found out the news she had given birth too I was excited."

Kensington Palace announced at 8.30pm that Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, delivered her son at 4.24pm with Prince William at his wife's bedside after being admitted to the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London shortly after 5.30am.

But Morgan's arrival into the world took a little longer - keeping him mum and aunty Kelly waiting for 23 hours before he was delivered by forceps at James Cook.

Kelly Dawes, 25, who was her sister's birthing partner, said: "It was really emotional but he is doing really well."

New parents like Samie whose child was born on the same day as the prince will have 60 days to claim their free lucky silver penny.

The penny, which will be presented in a pink or blue pouch, has been marked with the year 2013 to commemorate the babies' year of birth and features the Royal Arms.

"I will definitely register for one," said Samie. "It will be something we will keep forever as a keepsake."

Also proud as punch is Sadaf Ali who gave birth to her fourth child, a son named Musa Faizan Ali at 1.30am yesterday at James Cook.

Sadaf, 40, from Acklam who is married to husband Mair Ali, 50, said: "I am very excited for him to be born on the same day."

"I heard on the radio about the coins so I will hopefully get one as something he can keep forever," added Sadaf, also mum to Kiran, 20, Abu, 16, and 12-year-old Hazam, The beautiful Teesside babies and royal baby also share their birthday with Boroborn footballer Stewart Downing. …
