A TRIBUTE TO MEL SMITH BBC2, 10.10pm He may not have been as regular on TV as he was back in the 1980s and 1990s, but Mel Smith remains one of the most instantly recognisable faces in British comedy. His death on July 19 shocked those who grew up watching him in the likes of Not the Nine O'Clock News, Colin's Sandwich, and Muck and Brass. But it was for his partnership with Griff Rhys Jones that Smith will probably forever be remembered. This documentary features clips from many of the much-missed star's most memorable projects.

YOUR FACE SOUNDS FAMILIAR ITV, 7.30pm This show has been full of surprises - mainly, that something involving celebrities, singing and a Spice Girl can do anything less than flourish on a Saturday night ITV slot. However, with the first episode garnering fewer than four million viewers - a figure that has steadily declined since - and reviews that could kindly be described as somewhat unflattering, it's safe to say Stars in Their Eyes near-clone Your Face Sounds Familiar has not been the channel's finest hour. …
