MONDAY'S THE DAY FOR BUDGET MEETINGS

A series of critical meetings will be held Monday at the County Commission building. Another in a series of budget workshops will begin at 3 p.m., with commissioners setting a tentative maximum millage rate and taking up other matters as they work to close a $2 million budget gap. The regular County Commission meeting follows at 5 p.m. after being moved from its normal Tuesday slot. The agenda includes discussion on a surplus property action plan and a compressed workweek schedule and an update on replacing the county attorney. A public workshop is then scheduled for 6 p.m. on the Land Development Regulations.

PUBLIC HEARING ON BLANDING IMPROVEMENTS

The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing Monday for proposed improvements to Blanding Boulevard along a 6-mile stretch from County Road 218 to Old Jennings Road and a proposed interchange at Branan Field-Chafee Road. The 6:30 p.m. hearing, to be preceded by a 4:30 p.m. open house, will be held at the Thrasher-Horne Conference Center, 283 College Drive in Orange Park. The work on Blanding includes widening the road from four to six lanes, adding bike lanes, curb and gutter, lighting, upgrading traffic signals and installing signalized crosswalks. RENOVATIONS FORCE FLAGLER HOSPITAL TO TEMPORARILY MOVE SERVICES

Main lobby renovations that have begun at Flagler Hospital will cause some hospital services to be temporarily moved to a different location. The renovations are expected to last three to four months. The renovations include improving climate control and enhancing access at the patient drop-off and pickup area.
