Wind Can Blow Them Away

Article excerpt

Byline: Naomi Matthew Racing correspondent

WIND Fire can revel in the descent in trip when she competes in a stronglooking renewal of the Bathwick Tyres St Hugh's Stakes at Newbury.

This Listed affair often throws up a sharp filly to follow and David Brown's sprinter nicely fits the bill.

The daughter of Distorted Humor has already made plenty of waves in her first season, with a cosy victory at Sandown backed up by a terrific effort against the colts at Royal Ascot.

Wind Fire was only beaten just over a length by No Nay Never and Coach House in the Norfolk Stakes - form which could soon look watertight as the former takes the plunge in the Prix Morny in France at the weekend.

The Malcolm Saunders-trained seven-yearold is a tough stayer with a decent engine, and deserves a shot in this slightly higher grade.

Sunny Future never wins by far, but he is exceedingly consistent and is only 3lb higher than when he accounted for Chapter Five by threequarters of a length at Salisbury last month. …
