Anniversary I BET you thought that I'd forgot, About the day we tied the knot, About the day I promised you... That I'd be straight and honest too, How could it slip out from my mind, The day the sun and stars aligned, The day we smiled and said "I do", Your little garter was "Something Blue", My memories of it are so clear, I told you you should have no fear, We planned the years till we were older, Said I'd be there to lend a shoulder, It seems we had the universe, Till life played out a gloomy verse, It set a test that proved too strong, So you were left ... and I was gone, But just coz I'm not in the flesh, It doesn't mean I love you less, Don't think because I'm not around, I won't be smiling looking down, You can't find space` for moving on, You find escape in soothing songs, I know it's bad you're feeling blue, You're feeling mad but grieving too, That's why "this" day love can soar, Anniversaries are so raw, But if you find it hard to cope, Always know, there's always hope, I didn't say this much out loud, But I love you and you make me proud, I hear your prayers . …
