EXILED Teessider Bob Brown is claiming a goal from a Brian Clough as one of his cherished memories of the great man.

"As a teenager I lived in Kensington Road, maybe 50 yards from Ayresome Park," he explained.

"We spent most of our out-of-school time playing football over in Albert Park. We followed the Boro all over - I would think of Cloughie's 200 plus goals we saw around 150. I remember the Brighton 9-0 game as if it was yesterday.

"One of my best memories of Cloughie was that he often came through Albert Park, presumably going to and from Ayresome, and he would always join in our game.

"I think, but maybe it was a dream, that I once headed in a goal from one of his crosses."

And another exile Michael Huckins, now living in Canada, recalls being told off by Cloughie.

"I have lots of great Clough playing memories - but my main one is not so great," he explained.

"My friends and I idolized Cloughie, so when he was a guest for a Saturday morning ABC minors show at the Elite, we all showed up and the place was packed.
