A BIKERS' club that fundraises for the armed forces has been nominated in our search for Community Champions.

Bad-Landers Motorcycle Club work tirelessly throughout the year to generate cash for Help for Heroes and Support our Soldiers.

The team of 13 members, and many of their partners, plan yearly events to raise vital funds as well as awareness of the forces' community and the sacrifices its members regularly make.

In June, more than PS7,000 was generated through Bad-Landers Motorcycle Club Armed Forces Day at Bents Park in South Shields.

Mum-of-one Jan Tyson, whose husband, Malcolm, 56, is a member of the group, nominated the club for our Champion Fundraiser category.

The 54-year-old auxiliary nurse, of Sunderland, said: "I was thrilled to nominate the club as it is nice for the members to get the recognition that they deserve.

"Bikers really do care and promote a positive image. …
