Final Countdown to the Fastest 50 Winners; AWARDS

Article excerpt

THE excitement is mounting as the countdown continues to the 2013 Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 Awards.

In just two days' time, the winners of the annual survey of the North-East's fastest-growing privately owned businesses will be revealed at BALTIC, the Centre for Contemporary Art, in Gateshead.

Around 200 guests, including representatives of this year's Fastest 50 companies and key members of the region's business community, will be in attendance when the awards are announced from 12pm.

The event is sponsored and organised by leading North law firm Ward Hadaway and supported by The Journal.

As in previous years, the 2013 Fastest 50 has been compiled with the help of expert researchers from St Chad's College/Durham Business School.

Colin Hewitt, Partner and Head of Commercial team Ward Hadaway, said: "The Fastest 50 is widely acknowledged as one of the key events on the region's business calendar.

"It all points to a welcome sign of the wider strength of the economy and the entrepreneurial spirit of the North East.

"As the region looks to emerge from the challenging economic climate of the past few years, our winners are in the vanguard of that movement and we look forward to revealing their names and recognising and rewarding their successes on Friday."

The Fastest 50 recognises privately-owned profit-making companies and organisations in the North-East which have shown the strongest sales growth over recent years. …
