You're coming over to London in March next year for your live show, the Spike Lee-directed Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. What can fans expect? It's going to be everything, it's me. Everyone knows the things that have happened to Mike Tyson over the years but it's about explaining those moments in my life and what was going on around that time. I've done the show for two years now to rave reviews -- and, man, that's not just me saying it, you can read the reviews for yourself. But I felt it was time to take it abroad.

What's the reception like to you in London and the UK? It's big love in London and the UK, I really do feel that. I really get great appreciation from you guys, even during the dark times you guys appreciated me, you guys were always at my side.

And you've also got your autobiography out later this year. What can we expect from that? It's me talking about everything, remembering all that's happened, the good and bad of the fighting years but also everything else, going in and out of jail.

Was it a cathartic process, did you enjoy going over old ground? I tell you what, it just stinks. So it wasn't cathartic at all, just really, really hard. At the end of the process, I was just left with a rotten feeling in my gut. It doesn't make me feel good about stuff. However, I think people will enjoy reading it, the honesty and there's new stuff in there, too.

So, what's your aim now in life? Man, all I really want is a peaceful day. That's how I start every day, I wake up and aim to have a peaceful day. I don't have dreams anymore. I just want to live life day by day.

Surely, though, you're able to look back fondly on your days in the ring -- do you watch back your fights with pride? The thing is I don't really look at myself as particularly wise in my own eyes. But preparing for fights, being disciplined like that, having that control, that's the bit that's good -- the lovely moment in my life. …
