THE Cancer Council Queensland will launch its annual Pink campaign with a day of indulgence and fun on Saturday, October 5, at the Caneland Central Shopping Centre.

Cancer Council staff and volunteers will be busy painting nails pink and giving away limited edition pink nail files to local ladies, in support of all Queensland women affected by cancer.

This year in Queensland, almost 4000 women will be diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer -- and sadly more than 750 will die from these women's cancers.

Cancer Council is calling on Queensland women to support Cancer Council's pink month throughout October-- to give hope for women diagnosed with cancer.

Cancer Council Queensland's fundraising co-ordinator Terri Muscat said events like Girls' Night In and Pink Ribbon Day encouraged women to talk about their personal health and to show support for those affected. "It's a chance to get the girls together, raise funds and talk about ways we can all help reduce our risk of cancer," Ms Muscat said. …
