The Grafton Chamber of Commerce will give full support to the survey of the Iluka port trade potential which will be undertaken shortly by Mr Courtney M. Thomas, on behalf of the Regional Development Committees of the Clarence, Richmond-Tweed and New England.

The president, Mr L.J. Abrahams will seek further information on the possibility of a sugar refinery. The CSR wrote in reply to previous representations by the chamber seeking a refinery at Harwood to refine raw sugar from Harwood and Broadwater.

On annual holidays, Mr and Mrs Peter Cook and daughter Michelle have motored from Parkes to Tucabia. They are visiting Mrs Cook's parents, Mr and Mrs Alf Bowling. While in the district they hope to spend some time at nearby beaches and have rented a house at Wooli for that purpose.

The Grafton branch of the Australian Country Party will support any representations by the Grafton City Council for the adequate housing for Aborigines in Grafton. …
