Premier Team to Be Put to the Test

FOR the first time in more than a decade, the Football FNC Premier Team will have the chance to flex its muscles when it takes on Murwillum-bah FC next Friday night.

All 11 premier team players have confirmed their availability for the exhibition game, with coach Craig Kennedy upbeat about the prospect.

"It's a rare opportunity for the premier team to get a run and it's a great idea" he said.

"All the guys are very keen to take on Murwillumbah, which has quite a few former players from around here.

"The challenge for myself and manager Scott Collis is to blend together 11 guys who've never played together, in a very short time.

"The only juggling we'll have to do is in the backline, where we'll put the two taller players, Max Hospers and Shaun Packham, in the middle with Eamon Banks and Max Toovey out wide.

"But we've had some solid training runs and the guys all want to prove a point about our local standard against a quality side. …
