Miller Happy to Be Back on Coast Homecoming for Mitch

SURF LIFESAVING: The Sunshine Coast's Mitch Miller says his return to the Coast will deliver him his best result in this year's ironman series.

The former Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club member moved to the Gold Coast in 2011 to train with super coach Pat O'Keefe at North Burleigh.

After struggling with a rib injury and finishing 19th in that year's series, Miller switched allegiances to Northcliffe to train under Barry Newman, Gavin Hill and Tate Smith.

But Miller, 20, returned to the Coast this week for "personal reasons" and has moved back in with his father. He said he envisaged his homecoming would translate to success in the water.

"My dad and his partner have bought the lease to the Kawana pool and I saw it as a chance to work the pool and have a different training environment," he said.

"Hopefully it will pay off in the series and it's just good to back home with dad again."

Miller confirmed he will stay with Northcliffe and scuttled suggestions there were hard feelings between him and the club.

"Everything's fine and I've got no intentions to leave the club," he said. …
