MOOLOOLABA Surf Life Saving club has reaffirmed its standing as a leading nursery for elite talent with the club accounting for six of the 16 places in this year's Nutri-Grain Ironman Series.

Ali Day, Matt Poole and Joshua Minogue qualified automatically after starring in last year's Ironman Series. Matt Bevilacqua secured a place following last weekend's trials at Salt Beach where he finished third. The top four placed finishers earned a spot.

And Hayden White and Cam Cole will make their series debuts after being granted wildcards into the series.

Master coach Michael King has been credited with the success, with Bevilacqua and White joining the club in the past 12 months to specifically train under him.

Jordan Mercer (Noosa Heads), Amy Nurthen (Mooloolaba) and Alyssa Bull (Alexandra Headland) are doing it for the girls in the Ironwoman Series with the young charges qualifying automatically based on last year's performances.

Other Coast products set to compete in the men's and women's fields are Mitch Miller and Maddy Dunn. …
