IF YOU'RE not certain you received both doses of the measles vaccine, double check.

That's the message from Darling Downs Public Health unit director Dr Penny Hutchinson, after a case of measles was confirmed in Toowoomba on Wednesday.

The outbreak on the Darling Downs remained limited to the single case, but the health system is watching for the possibility of people who had contact with the infected person developing symptoms.

Dr Hutchinson said the Toowoomba region had a vaccination rate slightly higher than the national average, about 93%, but the area had pockets where fewer people were immunised.

"On the whole, we're doing pretty well with our coverage rates," she said. …
