CARSELDINE SIGNED; Seamers Rope in T20 Star for Country Challenge

CENTRAL Queensland Seamers players will be tapping into one of cricket's most experienced minds when they contest The Good Guys Bulls Masters Country Challenge next month.

Former Queensland Bulls' Sheffield Shield and Twenty20 all-rounder Lee Carseldine was named as coach of the Seamers for the three-day event against Far North Queensland Fusion, North Queensland Monsoons and last year's runners-up Mackay Whitsunday Nitros in Cairns starting on October 4.

Carseldine, who played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in 2009, will hopefully provide the shot in the arm CQ needs to book their place on the big stage.

If they top the Northern Conference, Central Queensland's best cricketers will have the chance to line up against the winner of the Southern Conference at the Gabba in a Brisbane Heat Big Bash curtain-raiser.

Bulls Masters managing director Jimmy Maher, who is coaching his hometown team Fusion, said the Seamers would benefit from having Carseldine on board. …
