Today's candidate for the 1963 Jacaranda Queen Selection is Miss Colleen Mary Hunter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hunter, of Winegrove. Colleen is 18 and is a stenographer at Messrs Foott, Law and Co. in Grafton. She is being nominated by the Clarence Pastoral and Agricultural Society and Grafton Showground Trustees. Basketball, tennis, swimming and dancing are among Colleen's spare time interests.

BIRTHS: BROWN (nee Crew) - to Wendy and Reg, a son, Garry Malcolm. Both well.

YAMBA, Tuesday - A small child at Yamba was today unconcernedly playing with a live grenade until relieved of it by Mr. Laurie Ford.

The grenade was dug up in a backyard where it had apparently been buried after being brought to Yamba as a war souvenir. …
