A GRAND final victory would be the ideal send-off for Southside United veteran Sharon Connor.

That's why her daughter Jordan Edwards is determined to ensure Souths advance through to the Rockhampton Hockey Association's A1 women grand final next Saturday.

The Southside United A1 women's pair face Park Avenue Brothers tomorrow in the RHA A1 women's preliminary final at Kalka Shades.

A win would see Sharon extend her career, which started out as a 14-year-old at Aarora College in Auckland, for another week, while a loss would end it all.

After their 4-1 loss to reigning premiers Wanderers last weekend, the Southside girls are keen to make amends and give Sharon the send-off she deserves.

The duo first played alongside each other in the A2 women's competition when Jordan was just 13, and now seven years later, that could all be over.

It's been a mixed bag this season for Southside against Saturday's opponents, but they had the upperhand in their previous encounter a fortnight ago. …
