HOCKEY: School also equates to hockey for 12-year-old Olivia Parsons.

Olivia was a member of the St Joseph's U12 side which defeated Mackillop 4-0 to win the Mackay School Hockey premiership at Harney St on the weekend.

"I started playing in grade two, so that's five years now I've been playing," she said.

"In grade two my mum wanted me to play sport, they wanted me to play hockey so I said yes.

"I like how we play."

The St Joseph's team proved dominant this season, finishing the season undefeated. Co-captains Toni Howlett and Amber Fenwick both scored in the final, and Maddi Wilson had a double.
