Koko Returns for Final Game; the Centre Has Been out All Season after an Injury in Game One

RUGBY LEAGUE: A season of frustration is over for Michael Koko, who makes a return for the final home game of the season for Mackay Cutters against Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles at Virgin Australia Stadium tonight.

The centre suffered a shoulder injury in his debut for the Cutters in game one of the season, and hasn't been able to play since.

"It's been a struggle, but I'm glad to get this opportunity to play," he said.

"In rehab I've been doing a lot of things to get the shoulder back to 100 per cent.

"I'll try my best and hopefully I might get a chance to play in the finals, which would be awesome."

Also looking to return for the Cutters is front rower and co-captain Joel Clinton, who suffered an ankle injury two games back on his return from an extended layoff after suffering a broken sternum in May.

Koko, 23, a former Storm U20 player, earned a contract with the Cutters after arriving for pre-season training last year on a train and trial basis. …
