Two Horse Lovers Vie for Rodeo Princess

WITH American Indian heritage from her mother, Rodeo Princess entrant Megan Kiley says horse riding is in her blood.

Megan, 14, has entered the Warwick Rodeo Quest competition along with her good friend and fellow horse lover Sophia Foster.

It is the first time for both Megan and Sophia, but they said they were not nervous.

"I wanted to do it for a while," Megan said.

"I never got the chance to have a go, and I wanted to do it because it's something different.

"It's really fun to have a go at new things...you can meet new people."

Sophia said she loved living in the Rose City

"I really want to tell people how good the rodeo is, and how good Warwick is to live in," she said.

"I love Leslie Dam, and I love the rodeo and pony club."

Megan broke both her arms in a fall when she was about 10 years old, but she hasn't let that faze her.

"I love horse riding; it's much better than riding motorbikes," she said. …
