History Repeats Itself on Flight from Bali
LLOYD Edwards and his wife Stephanie were on a flight back from Bali when the captain informed passengers they were desperate to land at Brisbane airport before the midnight curfew.
"The captain went on to tell everyone of Queensland's win in the second game of the State of Origin and there was a cheer," Lloyd recalled.
"He then continued with the second piece of news that we had a new prime minister and again a cheer went up.
"Almost belatedly he announced who the new leader was, only this time the name of Kevin Rudd was followed by more than a few moans.
"Talk about history repeating itself," Lloyd said. "We were on a similar flight three years ago when there was another change of prime minister."

TWO from two auctions sold under the hammer for Mark Reynolds of Ray White Mooloolaba after the gavel fell for 2/143 Amarina Ave, Mooloolaba.
The three-bedroom duplex unit was snapped up for $312,000 by a phone bidder from South Australia after the owners of just 10 months decided to return to Victoria to be closer to family.
Recently joining the Ray White Mooloolaba sales team, Mark also sold another duplex unit across the road in Amarina Ave last month for $375,000 when Victorian buyers moving to the coast happily swapped keys with sellers also wanting to return to our southern state.
THERE was a hot contest at 30 Lauren Dr, Buderim, on Saturday when a three-bedroom house was put up for bidding with Greg Clarke of Ray White Mooloolaba.
There were three registered bidders and the final eight calls were in $500 and $250 calls before it sold under the hammer for $329,000. …
