Kewell Lismore Bound; Star Player Expected to Turn out for Melbourne Heart

FOOTBALL star Harry Kewell is heading to Lismore and is likely to play in an A-League trial match at Oakes Oval.

The Melbourne Heart is coming to the Northern Rivers for the second year in a row and will play the Brisbane Roar on August 25.

Kewell signed with the Heart last month and it will be their first trial match before the 2013/2014 season.

The 34-year-old is one of Australia's most successful players and is hopeful of playing in the World Cup with the Socceroos next year.

Lismore City Council and Football Far North Coast are the brains behind the trial match.

Football FNC general manager Steve Mackney believes Kewell will play.

"Harry Kewell is a huge drawcard and it's been made clear that he will be here and participating," Mackney said.

"To have an icon like Harry in town is a massive coup and to have him playing should bring quite a few thousand more than last year. …
