Bell Tolls for In-Form Dirawongs; Trip to Grafton Will Test Northern United

NORTHERN United will need a standout performance from captain Roy Bell against Grafton Ghosts in Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League at Frank McGuren Field, Grafton, tomorrow.

Bell can turn a game and bagged a try-scoring double to seal the Dirawongs' fifth consecutive win, against Evans Head last weekend.

United coach Ash Moran realises he needs big performances from the likes of Evan Hickling, Willie Hammond and Bell to win this one.

Bell, who has NRL experience with South Sydney, has been with United since they came into the Northern Rivers competition in 2009.

He is a senior player in what has become the most inexperienced side the Dirawongs have fielded.

"He has been really good for us this year and I've had to put him in a couple of different positions," Moran said yesterday.

"I can't ask for any-thing more out him and he's been right behind me in my first year of coaching.

"I think every team needs a player like Roy Bell at their club. …
