When you were 15 years of age, what did you think you would be doing at this stage of your life? Be retired as an Admiral.

Your favourite place in the world and why? The West Indies. I went there in the '70s and had a ball. All the islands are so different and they have a fantastic climate.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? Sailing a yacht in the West Indies.

First sale? A block of land in Sunrise Beach for $17,500. I recall driving to Bli Bli to get the contract signed, I was so excited.

Most memorable sale? A house in Bayview Road, Little Cove, which sold for $4.5m.

Where did you grow up and your clearest childhood memory? Bournemouth England. I remember my granny and maiden aunt pushing me around in a pram through the lovely avenues of rhododendrons.

Which celebrity do you resonate with and why? Jeremy Clarkson. So funny and I'd love to not give a stuff like he does.

How many siblings do you have and where do you come in that line? One brother who is two years younger.

Are you a dog or cat lover? Dogs, and specifically a serial labrador lover. I take Nelson everywhere I can with me.

Comfort food? Pizza after tennis.

Favourite drink? Sauvignon blanc. I love asking critics on panels at food festival why they don't like it as I know their answer and I love watching them cringe as they explain it's too predictable. Right!

Best advice ever received? Take a deep breath before replying. It gives you time to think.

Advice or quote you find yourself recounting often? Never buy anything in a hotel room with a chandelier. It means someone is out to impress you, and I fell for it once. …
