THE call for youthful enthusiasm in a new Livingstone Shire Council was heard by a 22-year-old council employee who has put her hand up to run in the upcoming election.

Hannah Cohen is one of a growing list of people beginning to emerge as potential leaders in the new council.

Ms Cohen works in the customer service and planning departments at Rockhampton Regional Council and indicated she would run as an independent.

Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year finalist and Capricorn Chamber of Commerce president Karla Way-McPhail said having Ms Cohen on the council would be fantastic and joked that she could give councillors good training in social media.

Ms Way-McPhail, Coal Train's chief executive officer, is yet to make a decision as to whether she will run. …
