ENID Williams is a big believer in the power of music and after 60 years in the Grafton Glee Singers group, you can understand why.

"Music does a lot for you when you're down," Mrs Williams said

She said the members were all just as passionate about the singing group and its benefits to not only the singers, but the wider community.

"We really look forward to it because when you get to our age, there is not a great deal of things you can do but this fills that gap," she said.

"There's nothing like music if you're sad."

The group often sings to the residents in local retirement homes, as well as over- 50s clubs.

"Sometimes they'll get up and dance down the aisle or clap their hands and tap their feet and that makes it good for us that we made their afternoon," Mrs Williams said. …
