LONDON | Jacksonville resident Shirley Strickland has traveled great distances to watch the Jaguars play.

A season-ticket holder with her husband, Alan, since the team's inception, Strickland has seen the Jaguars win playoff games at Buffalo and Denver. She's also traveled to Dallas, Nashville, Tenn., and Pittsburgh, just to name a few.

Now, she's embarked on a new adventure to watch the Jaguars play. Strickland is attending Sunday's game between the Jaguars and San Francisco at Wembley Stadium with her sister, Cynthia Reinholtz.

The sisters are sitting together, but will be on opposite sides. Reinholtz has lived in the San Francisco area for over 30 years and is a 49ers fan who attends games with her husband, Chris.

Her first 49ers game was the famous 1982 NFC championship game, in which San Francisco stunned Dallas 28-27 at Candlestick Park.

Quarterback Joe Montana found Dwight Clark for a 6-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone with 51 seconds remaining in the game. The play is known as "The Catch."

The sisters arrived in London on Friday morning, Strickland sporting her Jaguars jacket and Reinholtz wearing her 49ers jacket.

"Alan and I try to take a trip for an away game every year," Strickland said. "We didn't last year, thinking we'd try to go to London, and then he kind of decided not to. My sister called a couple months ago. She said, 'This is never going to happen again where the Jaguars and 49ers are playing in London and you and I have to go.' "

Reinholtz's idea was well received.

"It didn't take much arm twisting," Reinholtz said. "We were both excited about having a girls weekend in London watching our teams play each other."

Strickland quickly purchased tickets through the NFL's United Kingdom website. The Jaguars emailed ordering information to season-ticket holders after the game was announced. …
