PEOPLE MAKE THE NEWS - NORTHERN RIVERS - Members of all denominations joined in a service for Gladys (Kay) Kolosque in the Union Church at Sawtell. The time of the service coincided with the funeral service for Mrs Kolosque and her brother, Mr J Pitchford, who were killed in a car accident while returning to Sawtell. It was only two weeks since Mrs Kolosque had attended the burial service of her husband Fred after his death in the Concord Repatriation Hospital. All three were interred in the Sutherland cemetery.

MR WS Angus, one of the four country research officers of the Department of Industrial Development, who was in Grafton yesterday, will visit Lismore today.

MR WA Hood will take over the management of the Casino branch of the commonwealth Bank today.
