LOVE is on the menu at a restaurant on Tyneside where a bride and groom-to-be both work.

Restaurant manager Ruth Hall joined the award-winning Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle in March 2010 and fell in love with chef Troy Terrington at a staff night she organised a few weeks later.

Ruth, who originally comes from Stocksfield but now lives in Newcastle with Troy, said: "I had a big crush on Troy as soon as I started working at Blackfriars.

We got together soon after I joined and have been dating ever since. He proposed last year and we're really excited to be organising our own wedding now, as well as helping others to plan their own special days at Blackfriars."

Head chef Troy, who hails from Cambridge but has lived in Newcastle for eight years added: "Working together has its good points - we both love food, plus the front of house and kitchen teams work well which is not always the case in restaurants. …
