Re merger issue in the Lockyer Valley: We are a club in the Ipswich district and we are fighting for our existence. All our players from 6's to seniors play here because they want to play for the Stags.

The QRL SE division is trying to merge three clubs here in the valley and make one from U13 to A-Grade seniors, leaving us with essentially a mini/mod club.

We are a young club with a strong committee and a strong group of volunteers.

We asked last year of the IRL if we could a field Reserve grade senior's side and a C-Grade and an U18s as well as U6-U16.

The IRL told our committee there was no room in the comp for our Reserve grade so we have fielded two C-Grade sides.

Now the IRL can suddenly make room for a Reserve grade side in the comp in 2014 as long as it is a combined Lowood/ Laidley/Rosewood side. …
