THE Bellingen River Festival 2013 is set to be a stunning showcase of local artists and true community spirit when it lands on the banks of the Bellingen River next Saturday.

Along with the now traditional canoe races, markets stalls and food tents, there will also be a wide range of music playing during the 12-hour festival.

Also, keep an eye out for some fantastic poetry and live performances by artists as they paint, sculpt or otherwise create from their outdoor pop-up studio space on the river banks.

Music this year is from Siskin River, Yhal Leal, Smash Mystery, diDjital with Aunty Huhu, and Ninth Chapter to name only some of the acts. Buskers who wish to sign up on the day will find their own performance space in Wattleseed Cafe, just down past the Storytellers Tent.

A range of workshops will be held both in the lead-up to the festival and on the day. Activities vary from lantern making, Gumbaynggirr language talks, environmental activities and our new water playground space. …
