WHAT do you get when you combine a 9kg gas bottle, car exhaust, some hinges and some clever engineering?

Answer: One hell of a multipurpose camp oven you can boil food on, cook food on or use as an open fireplace.

Geoff Hancock has always loved camping and one day while at a camping show in Brisbane he saw a camp stove he liked the look of.

There were several design faults he could see and the price was way too steep for his liking, so he went to work in his shed, creating the perfect cooker to take camping.

"I made my first cooker about three years ago, I saw something similar but thought I could make one cheaper and better," Mr Hancock said.

His design won't take up much room in the back of the ute or 4x4 because it breaks down easily into three pieces, the chimney made of car exhaust pipe comes off, the legs come off and you are packed and ready to go. …
