THE Grafton City Council has accepted the tender of W.J. Robson and Son for the renovations to the School of the Arts at South Grafton.

The tender accepted is for 6251 pounds. It includes the provision of modern toilets, renovations to the hall and stage improvements.

It is anticipated the work will begin on February 1, 1964, and will be completed in about 12 weeks.

REQUESTS from the Jacaranda Festival Committee received at Tuesday night's meeting of the Grafton City Council indicated the nearness of the 1963 Festival.

The use of the Lower Market Square was granted for the crowning of the Jacaranda Queen on October 27.

AMONGST the distinguished visitors at the Ulmarra rodeo was Mrs. C. A. Ditton, a resident of Ulmarra for many years. She left some four years ago to live with her daughter, Mrs. W. J. McCaughey, of Nymboida.

An active lady of 84 years, Mrs Ditton was greatly impressed with the rodeo and the official water turning on ceremony. …
